Our boy , “Chan” is a almost 12 year old German Shepherd mix. He can into our lives when my sister and I were running a no kill dog sanctuary in Southern California.

Another organization brought him and 3 other male pups to us after rescuing them from Tijuana, Mexico. They were found in a dumpster, emaciated and left to die. They were approximately 3 weeks old.

My sister and I got them healthy, neutered, vaccinated, socialize, and somewhat trained. When they were about 10 weeks old we placed 3 of them into their forever homes. At that point I decided to bring Chandler home to see how he and my 15 year old dog would do. They loved each other right away. And he has been in our lives ever since.

Although he has slowed down a little due to some arthritis as well as getting up there in age he still loves his toys. He has a big basket full of toys, but his favorite is his “Lamby” and of course his Frisbee and tennis ball.

He enjoys sleeping on his cot outside during warm summer nights and snuggling in one of his many beds during cold winters. He is an only child now, but does have his best friend “Kaylie”…and energetic and petite 1 year old that comes over for play dates and sleepovers. He gets super excited when it is time to go on our night time walk and for his treats when we return.

Chan is our one and only child. He has brought more love, and joy into our lives than words can express. I just hope that we have made his life as wonderful as he has made ours.
